Rudranath is a famous Hindu temple which is located in the Garhwal Himalayan mountains in Uttarakhand, India. Rudranath Temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva which is Located approximately at 3,600 metres (11,800 ft) above sea level. There are five famous temple in the Garhwal region (Uttrakhand) and Rudranath Temple is third Temple which is situated in the Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit. It is also known as Natural rock temple which is situated within a dense forest of rhododendron dwarfs and Alpine pastures. There are the other temple are also there such as ( Kedarnath and Tungnath to be visited before Rudranath and Kalpeshwar to be visited after Rudranath or Madhyamaheshwar and Madmaheshwar )
This temple is fully dedicated to the Lord Shiva and there are lots of mythology are exist behind the story of Lord Shiva. There are huge number of visitors are came here every year to see big temple and worshipped of Shiva as Nilkanth Mahadeva .To visit Rudranath Temple various tracking programs are conducted in every year and the starting point of trekking is start from the Sagar village which is approx 03 km from Gopeshwar. Such other different Trekking is also done from the village of Mandal which is 12 km far from Gopeshwar. In the way of Trekking you can see Anusuya devi temple which is also famous for worship.The route of trekking is very dangerous with total distance of approx 24 km from the ground level.
